About Us
Troop 7 of Brimfield, Massachusetts has been in existence since 1968. We are chartered by the Brimfield Firefighters Association, Incorporated. Troop 7 is part of the Western Massachusetts Council, B.S.A., Post Road District.
Meetings are held from 6:30pm to 8pm on Monday nights in the cafeteria of the Brimfield Elementary School. This time is spent doing scout run activities, youth training, and rank advancement.
We feature a very active outdoor program with numerous camping, fishing, canoeing, and hiking experiences, allowing the youths to put their training to the test. We also try to have one campout every month – even in the winter.
We are dedicated to the principles of personal honor and responsibility, community service, outdoor skills and environmental education, development in leadership, physical fitness, teamwork, and citizenship. Troop 7 is a boy-led troop. Scouts plan and organize all of our programs, with assistance as needed from adults on the troop committee. The troop is organized into patrols, each of which forms a team of scouts. Activities often include competition between patrols.
Boy Scouting is a year-round program for boys ages 11 - 17. Through the Boy Scout program, young men can achieve the core objectives of strengthening character, personal fitness, and good citizenship. |
